COINS Reveals Finalists in 2016 Construction Industry Grand Challenge

Construction Industry Solutions (COINS), a market leader in enterprise software for the construction industry, has announced the finalists in its 2016 Grand Challenge.

Seventeen students, entrepreneurs and industry professionals beat off stiff competition to reach the final of the global built environment-focused innovation competition. Entrants were challenged to share new ideas that could positively impact the built environment industry and in turn our society, across three key themes: new and emerging technology, sustainability, and leadership.

Entrants from across the UK, Europe and the USA will present their ideas at the Construction Innovation Conference & Exhibition on Wednesday 8 February 2017, before attending the Grand Challenge Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony that evening, where the winners and runners up will be announced.

Robert Brown, CEO of COINS, said: “The 2016 Grand Challenge has been a great success with a high numbers of fantastic quality entries received. We have been really impressed with some of the creative and innovative ideas and picking the winners will be a challenge for our judges.

“The Grand Challenge is about uncovering people with ideas that have the potential to change how we do things, positively impacting our societies and our lives. The great thing about the event is that it’s open to anyone, from any discipline or level of experience, from anywhere in the world. We’re offering people an accessible platform to take their idea to the next level and I look forward to working more closely with the finalists in the months to come.”

Working with leading construction companies, home builders, universities, member’s organisations and incubators across the UK and USA, COINS will offer the winning entrants cash prizes, professional experience and R&D funding opportunities with leading industry players.

The Construction Innovation Conference & Exhibition and Grand Challenge Gala Dinner and Awards Ceremony will be held on Wednesday 8 February at the Mermaid Conference & Events Centre in Blackfriars, London.
