Phill Bascombe, Managing Director, says: “This new truck is an upgrade to anything we have had in our fleet previously. It gives us the flexibility to take on a wider selection of jobs and allows us to work in more challenging locations.

“We are supplying a new service to local tree surgery companies that are dealing with the removal of trees that have ash die back; these can be highly dangerous and need to be worked on from a distance of at least 10 metres. With this new vehicle we can handle this work via the remote control ensuring our staff are safe throughout.”

The FH is also fitted with a Palfinger Personnel Basket, allowing staff to work safely at great heights, or it can be utilised as an under-bridge unit to carry out vital inspections. When not in use the basket can be removed.

“This unit required more than an off-the-shelf solution, so we worked closely with MV Commercial to spec the truck to the requirements we needed. The team are always able to offer us a bespoke package that is not available anywhere else, and we’re already seeing the benefits from this latest addition.”

While out on the road, Phill Bascombe Transport Ltd can also call on MV Commercial’s nationwide support network, with more than 100 approved workshops across the UK and Ireland.

Phill Bascombe Transport Ltd is a family-run business providing professional road haulage services throughout the UK and Europe, and its fleet is accredited under the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Gold standard. This gives its customers the confidence that it is achieving exemplary levels of best practice in safety, efficiency and environmental protection, including managing its work-related road risk.
