Garic providing units for coronavirus testing centres

Garic takes on a new project to help tackle COVID-19.

Garic is providing units to be used by the government as it increases the number of coronavirus testing centres. Garic usually supplies specialised plant and welfare facilities to a range of businesses in the construction industry. Traditionally, these units have been used for various projects including motorway works and city-centre redevelopment sites.

Now the units have taken on an essential new purpose, by transforming into an essential piece of equipment to help tackle COVID-19.

The NHS has asked that the testing centres were placed in convenient locations throughout the UK. Previously, these test centres were located in converted car parks, but there was a growing concern that with these centres being placed in inconvenient locations, the people being tested were adding further risks as they travel further to get to these centres.

Garic’s unit facilities include freshwater units, waste and fuel tanks, flushing toilets, urinals, hot and cold water, hand dryers, heating, lighting and power generators – making them a perfect fit for the COVID-19 testing centres.
