NWH Group launches trade waste in Newcastle

The waste recycler NWH Group is set to invest more than £2m in its new Factory Road site in Newcastle’s Blaydon area in order to launch its trade waste service for the north east of England.

Having first expanded into Newcastle during the latter part of 2018, the business has quickly outgrown its existing premises due to demand for its services, and requires more space to expand its operations and cater for the wider north east.

The new three-acre site is ideally located to support city centre trade as well as the surrounding areas. Once upgraded with suitable infrastructure, the business plans to extend its range of services to accommodate the waste recycling requirements of the Office, Industrial, construction, healthcare, hospitality and leisure sectors.

NWH currently employs 24 staff in Newcastle, with plans to double this by the end of the year. A number of roles are already being recruited for including business development.

Allan Kane, General Manager of Waste Services at NWH Group, said: “We have made a strong start in Newcastle, thanks to our great team and comprehensive service proposition. The business has an appetite for success, and we will be investing heavily in new site infrastructure including a new building, waste processing equipment, vehicles and of course bins, so we are in the best possible position to support our customers’ waste recycling needs.”

Mark Williams, CEO of NWH Group, added: “These are exciting times for our business as we successfully deliver on our strategy for growth through geographical expansion. We are looking forward to really embedding our business south of the border with this major investment in Newcastle that will enable us to deliver our full range of waste recycling services to industry in the north east of England.”

Currently NWH Group operates a fleet of skips from it’s Newcastle base and plans to launch its trade waste service in the Autumn once the new site is fully operational.
