Gloucestershire based hirer WHC has concluded a deal that will add 40 Thwaites dumpers to their fleet, expanding their dumper asset base by 30 machines to 120.
The deal will see a mix of sizes from the hirers favourite 1-ton Hi-Tip through 3-ton, 6-ton Power Swivel and the industry leading 9-ton machine delivered to WHC branches, throughout Gloucestershire, Worcestershire and Oxfordshire.
The deal was agreed with WHC, Managing Director, James Clutterbuck, who spoke about why the company has invested to grow the hire fleet and why the business chose Thwaites.
Mr Clutterbuck said, “Demand through 2020 remained strong and utilisation levels became challenging, in the autumn when demand was outstripping supply, we actually had a waiting list for compact equipment. As we head into the Spring, demand is back to those Autumn levels, this has been largely driven by SME contractors seeing households investing in their property, thus driving demand for the 1 ton Hi-Tip, in addition to the sustained, regional, utility market, necessitating the need for further 6-ton Power Swivels”.
The deal was supported by Thwaites distributor Lister Wilder, Sales Manager Richard North commented, “We were pleased to conclude this dumper deal with WHC and welcome them back to Thwaites”.
Thwaites Distributor Manager Paul Rodwell said, “WHC first started dealing with Thwaites in the 1990’s, their last order was in 2019, when they chose to realign their fleet. We are delighted today to welcome WHC back to the business and thank them for choosing Thwaites for this significant order”.
James added, “At WHC we love to support British manufacturers, but we have to have a quality build, I won’t just buy because it’s British, my customers need reliability when they hire this machine and I need great residuals when it’s time to sell, that is the reason I came back to Thwaites”.
In addition to the investment and growth, WHC are also celebrating a hat-trick of gold ROSPA awards, a recognition the business has worked hard to achieve and sustain. Mr Clutterbuck concluded, “Standards at WHC are high, this recognition and safety culture only enhances our reputation”.
