Speedy Hire has launched its diesel-free matrix

In what it says is an industry first Speedy Hire has launched its diesel-free matrix, an innovative tool designed to support its PAS2080:2023 carbon management system.

The Matrix is an essential component of the company’s customer carbon management strategy, aligned with PAS2080:2023. It is designed to govern hire contracts at a project level, enabling customers to avoid, switch, and improve operations. This allows them to make measurable progress in reducing diesel reliance and advancing decarbonisation across their sites.

Through the tool, Speedy Hire assesses customers’ projects using a comprehensive digital scorecard, covering criteria such as the adoption of cordless technology, integration of alternative fuels, and the use of renewable power sources. This structured approach helps guide customers in making sustainable choices and reducing their carbon footprint.

Amelia Woodley, ESG director, said: “Our Decade to Deliver strategy underscores Speedy Hire’s commitment to a sustainable future, and the launch of our Diesel-Free Matrix is a pivotal step toward achieving this vision. By adopting PAS2080:2023 with third-party verification next year, we’re setting a new benchmark in the hire industry.”
