Doosan dealers and their customers from well over 20 countries around Europe have attended the company‘s 2017 Quarry Days in the Czech Republic.
Quarry Days provides customers with a unique platform to try out the latest Doosan excavators, wheel loaders and articulated dump trucks (ADTs) in real working conditions. As in previous years, customers expressed very high satisfaction with the event, particularly the opportunity to operate the full range of Doosan machines themselves.
With 30 Doosan machines available to try out, the Doosan Quarry Days has been created in response to dealer and customer feedback asking for access for hands-on testing of the latest machines in true working environments. As a precursor to agreeing current and future purchase deals, this provides advantages for Doosan dealers and helps to strengthen customer relationships.
Unlike many manufacturers, where customers are only allowed to view companies’ staged demonstrations of machines, Doosan has listened to customer requests with the Quarry Days programme. The event is designed to provide them with the best possible experience, backed by support, expertise and consultation provided by Doosan demonstrators, trainers and product managers.
Rewarding for Customers
Attending Quarry Days this year was Gary Heckford, Contracts Manager at Kendray Construction, based in Wollaston in Northamptonshire in England. Kendray Construction offers a wide range of expertise and experience in groundworks, civil engineering and earthworks and has already taken delivery this year of two new Doosan DX140LC-5 14 tonne crawler excavators supplied by their local Doosan dealer, Murley Construction, based at Stourport-on-Severn in Worcestershire.
Describing his experience at Quarry Days, Gary said: “I attended the event as a guest of Steve Farden from Murley. Apart from the large array of machines from the smallest, the DX10Z, up to the largest, the DX530LC-5, that are are available to try out, I found the advice and training available from the Doosan product experts of great value.
“The event has provided me with a broader practical knowledge of the different machines available from Doosan and will be important in future plant purchases for Kendray Construction. I strongly recommend Quarry Days as an event for customers.”
Another visitor from the UK was Alan Miller, Managing Director of Miller Plant Limited, based at Inverurie in Aberdeenshire in Scotland. Miller Plant has recently purchased new Doosan DX225LC-5 22 tonne and DX255LC-5 25 tonne crawler excavators, a second-hand Doosan DX380LC-3 excavator and a new Doosan DL420-5 wheel loader from Balgownie Ltd, the local Authorised Doosan dealer.
Alan Miller said: “Quarry Days was one of the best manufacturer’s trips I have been on and we were well looked after by Craig Mann of Balgownie and Doosan. Unlike the trips from other suppliers where you are not allowed to drive machines, the opportunity to try out the full range of Doosan products at Quarry Days is exceptional. Following the trip to the Czech Republic, I have a much better knowledge of Doosan, the range they offer and how they compare with other machines on the market.”
30 Doosan Machines Available to Try Out
Doosan demonstration experts and product staff are on hand throughout the event to support customers with any queries on the Doosan range and around 30 Doosan machines were available this year for hands-on sessions by customers in the quarry.
There was an Aggregate Handling section for heavier applications including large Doosan crawler excavators such as the top-of-the-range DX490LC-5 and DX530LC-5 models. The line-up also included a wide array of the company’s wheel loaders from the DL250-5 to the largest DL550-5 model, as well as the popular Doosan DA30-5 and DA40-5 articulated dump trucks.
There was also an Earthmoving Area, where visitors could try out a wide selection of Doosan crawler excavators from the 14 tonne DX140LC-5 to the 30 tonne DX300LC-5 models, the DX210W-5 wheeled excavator and Doosan mini-excavators including the recently introduced DX10Z and DX17Z models.
