Davies Crane Hire celebrates 40 years in business with a new Liebherr LTM1060

This year Davies Crane Hire Ltd celebrates its 40th anniversary and the arrival of a new Liebherr crane. One of the largest independent crane hire companies in Wales, the company operates across four depots and has a fleet of cranes ranging from 8 to 400 tonnes that already includes four Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 mobile cranes.

A fifth LTM 1060-3.1 equipped with VarioBase® and a refinery kit, which includes engine shutdown and overspeed protection, was handed over to the company after being on display at this year’s Vertikal Days. This crane model is proving popular with a number of Liebherr customers, thanks to its compact three-axle chassis and other highly useful features such as the boom length, which gives it superb versatility when combined with the compactness of the model.

Malcolm Davies said: ‘We are delighted to have taken delivery of our 5th LTM1060-3.1 as part of our 40th Anniversary year. The LTM1060’s are an essential part of our fleet often specifically requested by our customers for their boom length and lifting capacity. The LTM1060 is the best crane in its class so it’s an easy choice. The VarioBase® is perfect for those tight awkward spots that other manufacturers similar capacity cranes would fail to achieve. It is also a favourite amongst operators because it is so user friendly. It is a great milestone to have been in business for 40 years and I could not have achieved this without a great team or operators and staff along the way. The crane industry can be a turbulent business to be in and there have been plenty of ups and downs. I have met some wonderful people in the industry and enjoyed great times with them and would like to thank everyone that has for being part of the journey so far.’

Steve Elliott, Sales Manager for Liebherr commented: ‘We are delighted to have delivered to Davies Crane Hire their 5th LTM1060-3.1 and congratulate Malcolm and the team on their 40th Anniversary‘
