Staffordshire-based plant hire firm Double M has taken delivery of the very first Mecalac 3.5MDX site dumper sold by SM Plant Ltd.
The state-of-the-art cabbed unit arrived in May and is already being used by customers across the region for a wide range of building, highway repair, landscaping and general contracting applications.
With more than 35 years’ industry experience and a reputation for excellent customer service, Double M is a trusted name in plant, machinery and access equipment hire. Every model is regularly tested, serviced and maintained to the highest standards, to ensure a hassle-free rental experience every time.
Purchased as part of the firm’s continued efforts to provide contractors across the region with innovative solutions to set the standards in site safety, the 3.5MDX adds to a growing fleet. In 2021, Double M purchased a six-tonne 6MDX model, which has since received superb reviews from customers across the region.
Mick Silvester, owner of Double M Plant Hire, commented: “Maximising site safety is a key priority for construction professionals nationwide. At Double M, we’re committed to leading the way, so have continued to invest in the market’s latest and most advanced safety-critical solutions.
“We purchased a Mecalac 6DMX in 2021 and were hugely impressed with the unit’s features, performance and capability. It was a real hit with contractors. Following such positive feedback, and with dumper cabs expected to become mandatory over the coming years, we made the decision to invest in a 3.5 tonne model.
“With the model operational on projects across the region, it’s proving hugely popular with both new and returning customers. It’s a really desirable size and the performance figures are hugely impressive for such a compact model.”
Kevin Pawley, sales manager at SM Plant Ltd, added: “Mick has been a loyal Mecalac customer for a number of years, having invested in a number of models to continue growing his impressive fleet. With a whole host of state-of-the-art features and operator benefits, it’s great to hear that his new 3.5MDX is already in high demand from contractors.
“We’d encourage anyone to test out the 3.5-tonne cabbed unit. It’s an impressive model and delivers over and above expectations.”
