Jet Plant takes delivery of 100th Wirtgen road planer

Leading road planing company Jet Plant Hire has taken delivery of its 100th planer from the Wirtgen Group, the world’s number one milling machine manufacturer.

The new Wirtgen W100CFI, a 1m-tracked-cold milling machine was formally handed over to Jet Plant’s Managing Director, Sean Witheford, at the manufacturer’s factory in Windhagen, Germany.

Wirtgen have been supplying Jet Plant with milling machines since 1989. The new W100CFI boasts the latest engine technology and delivers significant fuel savings and reduced emissions, ensuring it exceeds all current standards.  It also comes equipped with Wirtgen’s Vacuum Cutting System (VCS), designed to minimise dust and improve the working environment for operatives and members of the public.

The relationship between the two companies is not limited to planing machines however, with all Jet Plant’s cutting tools also being exclusively supplied by Wirtgen.  In addition to equipment, Wirtgen has also supplied training to a number of Jet Plant’s employees at its facility in Germany.  This has helped to further their operational skills and improved the company’s overall process efficiency.

Commenting on taking delivery of the landmark machine, Jet Plant’s Managing Director, Sean Witheford, said: “Our business has grown considerably over the past 3 decades, and in order to maintain this growth it is important we invest in the best quality equipment on the market. Wirtgen has been our number one choice and reinforces our company ethos of “setting the standards by which others are judged”. They have been an integral part of our success and we look forward to maintaining our very close relationship for many years to come.”

Wirtgen UK’s Managing Director, Paul Holmes, also commented: “Our relationship with Jet Plant runs much deeper than simply being a machine supplier.  Many of our employees have worked with the company since they started using our machines nearly 30 years ago. As a result, we have built a strong bond and trust which enables us to work closely together and ensure that we are doing everything possible to optimise the service that Jet Plant provides to its customers and to support them in the continued growth of their business.  We look forward to continuing this successful partnership”.
