Northeast Buys Two JCB Demolition Excavators

One of the UK’s foremost demolition specialists has bought two of JCB’s flagship demolition excavator models.

Essex-based Northeast Demolition UK Ltd purchased the purpose-built JS370 XD models for use across its commercial, industrial and residential demolition projects.

Supplied by dealer Greenshields JCB, they join several existing JCB demolition excavators bought by the company in recent years, including three JS220 XD models, a JS330 XD and a JS360 HRD high reach model.

Northeast’s entire JCB fleet worked on the demolition of 35 factory units in Sudbury, Suffolk at a former textiles facility. The new JS370 XD models used a series of application-specific attachments on site including a rotating hydraulic sheer to cut steel beams.

Northeast Demolition Director, Bradley Harris said: “We chose JCB for these latest models based on the excellent performance of our existing fleet. The smaller machines have been performing extremely well for many years while we have been particularly impressed with our latest high reach JCB model.

“The main attraction of JCB models is that they are clearly purpose built for demolition with specialist features and protection. The latest JS370 models are no different and first impressions are superb. Our operator has advised that they are more efficient on fuel and boast a greater reach than competitive models in our fleet.”

The 37-tonne JCB JS370 is JCB’s largest tracked excavator model engineered with exceptional strength, productivity, efficiency, comfort, safety and ease of maintenance Tier 4i Isuzu 210 kW engine it delivers 25% more power than its predecessor and 27 per cent more torque.

A massive 155kN bucket tearout makes the standard boom version of the JS370 model up to 12 per cent more productive than the closest competitors. A 70/30 front screen split for a clear view of the front right track, plus a large laminated glass roof window ensures exceptional all-round visibility.
