3M will be exhibiting for the first time at this year’s PLANTWORX, showcasing its wide range of personal safety solutions for the construction industry.
The science-based technology company will be one of the few health and safety product providers with a presence at the trade show, which will run from 6 to 8 June at the Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire.
With hundreds of companies showcasing their tools, equipment and services for the construction industry, 3M wants to remind visitors of the importance of choosing the right safety equipment.
This is particularly vital in an industry facing ever-tighter controls and regulations, and where employee safety is paramount.
In its outdoor gazebo at stand B2, 3M will showcase its array of fall protection equipment (FPE), for protecting people when servicing and maintaining large plant machinery; confined space equipment ranging from davits to rescue systems; hearing protection equipment, including ear defenders that allow for clear communication between workers; and respiratory protective equipment.
In addition, the company’s stand will feature the popular 3M fall protection demonstration van across the three days.
The vehicle, which tours UK workplaces demonstrating the need for FPE, will show how different types of equipment cope with falls from various heights.
A virtual reality headset will also be available for visitors to try out, giving them a sense of how FPE can help in real-world scenarios.
Throughout the event, 3M experts will also be on hand to answer visitors’ questions and help them find solutions to any safety problems they may have.
3M technical specialist George Elliott said: “PLANTWORX is growing every year, so we can’t wait to exhibit there for the first time.
“We want to remind visitors that it is just as important to select the right safety products as it is to choose the best digger or drill.
“As a company with years of experience in creating personal safety products, we have developed countless solutions that not only protect workers from potential hazards, but can also improve productivity.”
