Back by popular demand, Engcon will be hosting its second Big Dig Day of 2019 on the 18th and 19th October, this time in the South West of England at West Country Water Buffalo Farm near Yeovil, Somerset.
The free event follows the success of Engcon’s first Big Dig Day, which took place in the Midlands earlier this year, where over 100 owner operators attended, getting hands-on experience with a full line up of Engcon’s market leading products.
With the event commencing at 10am on both days, visitors to the latest Big Dig Day will have the opportunity to try out the complete range of Engcon products on a variety of excavators from a number of the leading brands on the market (from 1.5T mini-excavators right up to 22T machines). This means there will be a wide range of different control systems for experience, ensuring the Big Dig Day caters for every operator no matter what system they are used to. Engcon’s team of experts will be on-hand throughout to give technical advice, support and to answer any questions that operators have.
Alongside Engcon’s product range, one of the star attractions of the event will be a GPS zone featuring different brands of 2D and 3D machine controls including Leica and iDig, working in conjunction with Engcon’s ePS (engcon Positioning System). Speedy Hire will also have a stand at the event to promote its products and services to visitors.
Operators will also be able to experience the advanced safety benefits of Engcon’s Quick-Hitch Standard control (QSC) quick coupler locking system. Introduced now as standard, Engcon’s QSC is compatible with every make of excavator, tiltrotator and quick hitch on the market. It consists of a control panel with a switch to activate the excavator’s quick hitch and another to activate the tiltrotator’s quick hitch, with a simple yet practical slider between the top and bottom switches for ease of operation.
Another main attraction will be a custom-designed JCB 4CX backhoe loader, which Engcon’s UK-based engineering team have transformed into the most advanced backhoe loader in the world, developed to meet the needs of Robin Webber of agricultural contractor I J Webber & Sons. The machine now features a host of high spec innovations, making it the most intuitive backhoe ever produced and the first of its kind globally.
The jam-packed event will finish at 5pm on both days.
Robert Hunt, Managing Director of Engcon UK, comments: “There’s no better way to show operators the value that a tiltrotator and working with Engcon can add to their business than through live demonstrations. It’s so important that operators have the opportunity to sit on a machine and test the products for themselves to see how much more productive and efficient they can be using tiltrotator technology.
“Our first Big Dig Day earlier this year was a great success. Due to such high demand from our customers and the market, we have decided to hold another Big Dig Day in 2019, this time in the South West of England.
“The fact that we’ll have up to 12 excavators from different manufacturers with varying control set ups is a massive attraction for operators. It means we have something for everyone. The event is more than just a chance to demo the machines though, it’s also a fantastic networking opportunity for visitors to speak to and pick the brains of other operators.
“With a huge line up of machines all fitted with a host of Engcon products, we are looking forward to another fantastic event and expect to see an even bigger turnout than previously.”
