GAP Hire Solutions, the UK’s largest independent hire company, is delighted to have won a Scottish Green Apple Award. Arranged by The Green Organisation, these awards recognise, reward and promote environmental best practise around the world and are supported by the Royal Environment Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS).
The Green Organisation, established in 1994, is an independent, international, non-political, non-profit, environment group and the Green Apple Awards are a very prestigious, sought-after accolade.
To enter the Scottish Green Apple Awards, GAP had to submit an online entry, outlining why it should be considered for the esteemed award. The hire company’s submission was based on GAP’s low carbon site initiatives. The entry focussed on GAP’s use of its telematics system, named GAP Track, as well as their range of environmental and innovative products. It discussed how the firm uses these aspects to support its customers in achieving their net-zero goals, whilst also covering GAP’s aim to be carbon neutral by 2040.
There are various levels of award that can be achieved – Bronze, Silver, Gold and Green Champion. The winners won’t find out which exact award they have won until the award presentation ceremony, which is due to be held on Monday 24th May 2021 at Cornhill Castle in Biggar, Scotland. Depending on the given COVID restrictions at the time, this may be rearranged for a later, more suitable date if need be.
