Due to continued new customer wins working with connected site specialist SITECH UK and Ireland, OnGrade Machine Control has expanded its range of Trimble systems in their rental fleet to include cab kits for excavators.
One of the UK’s largest rental suppliers of machine control systems, OnGrade supplies a wide range of over 300 2D, 3D and total station systems that help plant operators to increase the productivity of their machines. With Trimble GC9500 and Earthworks kits for dozers already part of their offering and proving increasingly popular, adding Trimble solutions for excavators was the logical next step.
This has been made possible by the partnership with SITECH, who provide tailored hardware, software, and training in Trimble technology. OnGrade use this training to provide bespoke solutions to their customers, helping them to manage their projects from site survey to design and on-demand site support.
OnGrade have ambitious growth targets over the next ten years, with SITECH a key partner in this plan as director Wayne Stevens explains:
“We now have one of the industry’s largest hire fleets of machine control systems supporting the likes of dozers, graders, skid steers and compaction equipment. We plan to treble our sales in the coming decade as the industry is moving towards digitalisation more and more – simply because using technology is safer and saves time and money on reworks, on fuel, on staff and on site.
“Our work with SITECH was proving to be extremely positive, so it was a natural next step to broaden the offer to include excavator cab kits. We have received excellent training from SITECH in a full suite of Trimble products both on site and at their dedicated training facility so we can deliver full support to our customers with confidence.”
SITECH strategic accounts manager Danielle Barker explained that OnGrade are at the forefront within the equipment rental sector in offering the Trimble WorksManager platform on all their hires, making it simple to send designs remotely from the office to the field.
She said: “OnGrade have never been afraid of innovating and embracing connected site technology and we’re proud to support them on their growth journey.
“Wayne and his team moved into earthworks training within the last six months and have already began running simulator training for Trimble Earthworks machine operation, which is a big investment, but which has ultimately helped them to win new customers. This is because plant operators are quickly seeing clear benefits in terms of reduced material movements, accuracy of finishes and, ultimately, lower costs.”
