Dutch parts supplier Kramp is looking to strengthen its position in the UK construction machinery market.
Already a significant player in the agricultural sector, it sees a significant overlap between that and construction equipment, particularly in earthmovers and excavators. Leo Copping, field sales manager for Kramp, explains that targeting the construction sector was a logical next step: “We have a wide assortment of parts suited to construction, especially in areas like hydraulics,” he says. “Not only do we carry an extensive range of hydraulic items in stock, but Kramp has built a lot of expertise in the area, offering our agricultural dealers training and dedicated product support.”
The Dutch firm has its UK base at its central distribution centre in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. With 150,000ft2 of space, it can stock up to 80,000 products. During a typical week, 9,000 boxes are shipped, involving the picking of 30,000 lines. The aim is to achieve next-day delivery wherever possible.
