Manitou are pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Coates Plant Sales, Stoke-on-Trent, as their Construction product dealer for Staffordshire, Shropshire, Cheshire, Derbyshire and Manchester effective 1st January 2021.
Robert Coates Plant Sales is a family owned business which was started as a service business in the early 1980’s by Robert Coates. Like many successful service businesses, customers asked Robert to source machines for them. He started with the supply of used machines before becoming the Case construction equipment main dealer for Staffordshire, Shropshire, Cheshire and North Wales.
The current premises were purpose-built and opened earlier in 2020 and are ideally situated to serve the new Manitou geographical area of responsibility. They include a large, modern workshop for preparation and servicing of machines, parts store, offices, and showroom facilities. All sales, service and parts staff will undergo Manitou training during November and December. Parts stock will arrive before the year end, ensuring they are ready to support all customer needs from 1st January 2021. New machines will arrive in stock in early January.
This new dealer appointment results from the joint decision of Manitou UK and BTE Plant Sales to bring their current dealership agreement to an end on 31st December 2020. The decision will allow BTE to focus its attention on some of its other brands, and for Manitou to expand the geographical areas of responsibility of a number of key Manitou dealers. As part of this agreement, P V Dobson’s Construction territory will expand further south to the M62 / North Manchester. Hessle Fork Trucks will also extend their area south into Lincolnshire. Mawsley Machinery will extend northwards into Leicestershire.
The current BTE dealer agreement continues uninterrupted until 31st December 2020.
