The MHM Group are delighted to announce that they have had confirmation that their ‘Green Site Power Package’ has been awarded a 2020 Green Apple award.
The MHM ‘Green Site Power Package’ is a combination of solar panels and batteries, backed-up by a diesel generator, to deliver low emission electricity to a construction site. The principal aim of ‘Green Site Power Package’ is to utilise the emission free battery power, with the diesel generator only operational when the battery levels are low and need a recharge.
The system utilises innovative thin-film solar panels and Lithium iron phosphate batteries. The solar panels are designed to be the principal power source to ensure that the batteries remain fully charged at all times. Should there be insufficient power from the panels the generator will automatically start and take over the recharging operation.
Commenting on this award, the MHM Group managing director, Mat Llewellyn said, “This is the first time that we have entered these awards, so to win first time round is something that we are extremely proud to achieve. Our sales and engineering teams have worked very hard to put together this revolutionary system, which has already helped to save thousands of litres of fuel and drastically reduce C02 emissions.”
To win this award, MHM had to submit an elaborate appraisal of their system, including the project aims and achievements, alongside a detailed description of how the ‘Green Site Power Package’ operates.
Members of the MHM Group have been invited to receive their award at a ceremony held at the Palace of Westminster on 23rd November 2020.
The Green Apple Awards are presented by the renowned environmental campaigners, the Green Organisation. Established in 1994, The Green Organisation is an independent, international, non-profit, non-political environment group dedicated to recognising, rewarding and promoting environmental best practice around the world.
