GGR Group has appointed Gareth Baxendale as sales manager for the Faresin telehandler range, covering the UK and a dealer network in parts of Europe.
The company entered the telehandler market in 2020, with the UK launch of the 6.26 Full Electric and has gone on to offer the full diesel and electric range, which now includes the ‘Big Range Full Electric” machine series comprising of the 14.42, 17.40 and 17.45 models.
Baxendale joins the company from a short period at JLG, before which he was at Gunn JCB. He started his career with WH Malcolm Group in 2002, moving from logistics to materials handling with Cooper Material Handling Ltd in 2012, before making the move to construction sales with Gunn JCB in 2017.
Speaking of his new role, he said “It is exciting to be involved with products that are cutting through and challenging the status quo within the industry. I have had my eye on the Faresin telehandlers for some time, especially since they appeared to burst on to the scene from nowhere back in 2020 with their 6m electric.
“Having visited their factory in Italy and spending time with the Faresin team at Bauma recently, including the Faresin family who were very hospitable and made me feel very welcome, I can confirm that they have the heritage, infrastructure and capability to make huge waves in the market with their telehandler products.
“There is a huge buzz around electric plant in construction at the moment, but it is still very early days. The main challenges that we face is overcoming the perception of electric plant and questions relating to the charging infrastructure on today’s construction sites.
“There is a lot of misinformation out there, especially relating to the capability of 100% electric powered products. With the developments that Faresin have made to their battery technology, we know the capacity is there. The introduction of an intelligent charging system, exactly the same as you will find on a road vehicle, means that we are also leading the way towards a standardised, accepted and accessible method of charging too.
Marketing & Special Products Director Daniel Ezzatvar added “Gareth joins us at a time where we are coming to the market with the next wave of innovation. These products have become established over the past couple of years and we’re now gearing up for growth with the appointment of key personnel and a focus on service and support.”
