Selwood, the UK’s leader in pump rental solutions, has created a new “stopper centre” at its London branch.
The facility, part of the company’s recently opened multi-million-pound solutions centre in the capital, gives Selwood customers in the south and central UK quicker and easier access to pipe stoppers. The stoppers are inflatable, re-useable bungs used for blanking off pipework, often as part of an overpumping operation.
London becomes Selwood’s second stopper centre, joining an existing facility in Conwy, North Wales. It will stock a full range of multi-sized stoppers supplied by a team trained to carry out stringent safety checks to ensure each unit is safe for use.
Customers who order a pump can order stoppers as part of the same transaction and have the whole order, including the pumps, pipes, stoppers and floats, delivered together in most locations – reducing costs and the time spent on paperwork.
Keith Maddocks, manager at Selwood’s London solutions centre, said: “This new addition is part of Selwood’s ongoing and growing investment in products, ancillaries and training so that we can offer a comprehensive, convenient and seamless service to our customers. It helps ensure that our skilled, trained team meet the needs of each individual customer with the minimum of fuss.”
Selwood’s London solutions centre opened in 2021 at Crayford, with easy access from the M25. It is mainly a new build with large-capacity storage facilities, modern offices and customer areas.
