National construction equipment hire and services provider Speedy has opened their second sustainable service centre located in Leeds.
Following on from their successful launch of their A+ Energy rated ‘Milton Keynes Innovation Centre’ back in 2021, Speedy are using their new low carbon centre model as a blueprint for all future new and refurbished service centres, leading the way in sustainability and their net-zero mission.
The new centre boasts some fantastic eco credentials including: Smart Office and Warehouse Heating which automates shutters and doors to minimise energy usage; Indoor Air Quality Monitoring which controls Temperature, Humidity, Co2 & PM2.5; Smart warehouse Lighting which reacts to natural light; Smart Work Bays which turn off automatically when not in use; and Remote Connection which means its depot manager can remotely control lighting and heating. The centre also has three double port electric vehicle charging points on site.
Along with all the smart features, the centre also features a wellbeing area to enhance the working environment for Speedy colleagues. The centre will also focus on engagement in the community, working with local primary schools to create a mural at the centre and invite children along to plant trees and get creative help bring to life the wellbeing garden.
The centre will showcase the latest electric, battery, solar powered products and technologies that help to lower their customers’ environmental impact. The site adds to the list of larger new Regional Service Centre’s launched in the past 24 months including sites at Milton Keynes, Reading, Swindon, Doncaster, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Leicester providing a comprehensive range of hire tools, equipment, plant and powered access under one roof.

Specialist services for Hoisting, Access, Lifting, Survey & Plant will be available from the centre, with a dedicated training suite providing courses including safe working at height, through real-world and virtual technology.
