Sunbelt Rentals is delighted to announce a new strategic partnership with utilities and civil engineering contractor, DT Hughes Group.
The partnership has been created to support a multi-million pound contract secured by DT Hughes to maintain, upgrade and repair the electricity network within Merseyside on behalf of SP Energy Networks.
The partnership enables DT Hughes to secure the most cost-efficient and eco-friendly plant machinery and equipment for the programme of works which will include excavation, reinstatement, jointing and cable installation.
The use of electrical equipment to reduce emissions was a key element of DT Hughes’ successful bid.
Managing Director, David Hughes explained: “I am delighted to announce a new strategic partnership with Sunbelt Rentals, which builds on more than 15 years working together.
“Through our mutual understanding, we have been able to secure the most cost efficient terms for the hire of plant and equipment and meet one of our client’s key requirements – to reduce carbon emissions.
“Sunbelt leads the way in the provision of eco-friendly plant machinery, enabling us to demonstrate our commitment to protecting the environment on our journey to Net Zero”.
DT Hughes’ contract with SP Energy Networks is a three year plus two year agreement and is expected to create more than 200 new jobs during that period.
The team will be on call 365 days a year and 24/7 to support the contract.
Liam Wallace, North West Sales Director for Sunbelt, said: “We are delighted to be working in close partnership with the team at DT Hughes which is a real ‘meeting of minds’ to deliver cost-effective, eco-friendly solutions.
“The team at DT Hughes have an incredible track record for delivering innovation, fantastic services and an excellent safety record.
