To be able to offer customers holistic solutions for every day at the construction site, Wacker Neuson is continually developing new products and optimizing time-tested and proven machines and construction equipment. In early 2021, the company is introducing new compact machines such as excavators and dumpers as well as innovations in the area of compaction and from the zero emission range.
Wacker Neuson is at home in the area of compact construction machines and construction equipment – from internal vibrators to compaction machines, dumpers and wheel loaders all the way to 15 metric-ton excavators, customers can get everything for their construction sites under a single roof at Wacker Neuson. “With our innovation solutions in both products and services, we support our customers in getting everything out of their working day,” says Alexander Greschner, Sales Director of the Wacker Neuson Group. “For us, the customer benefits are always our focus, and the question of how we can make our customers’ everyday work at the construction site easier. Our current new products also fulfill our high demand for reliability, security and flexibility.”
New mini-excavators: the boost for every construction site
Working on a new level: this is what the excavators of the 4- or 5-metric ton class ET42, EZ50 – the Z stands for Zero Tail, i.e. no rear projection – and ET58 stand for. All three models are equipped with the new Active Working Signal (AWS), which guarantees a higher level of safety for the persons in the working environment of the excavator: a red LED strip integrated in the engine hood signals the operational readiness of the machine. This way, all persons on the construction site know that the excavator is in service – a simple but effective feature for more construction site safety. Another new feature: the tracked excavator ET42 is available with the option of the Vertical Digging System (VDS). This system, which only Wacker Neuson offers in the compact class, allows exact vertical digging even on an uneven ground surface, curbs or slopes. The tilting mechanism necessary for this is installed in the travel gear on the ET42 model. With VDS, up to 25 percent material and time savings result when excavating and filling with the excavator. At the same time, the excavator ET42 with the VDS option also has the same machine and entry heights, as well as insertion depth, as the model without VDS. The powerful drive system of the excavators ET42, EZ50 and ET58 supports customers in reliably finishing demanding tasks. The excavators are impressive for their high lifting and digging power, quick working cycles and the 3-point kinematics for more break out force, insertion depth and dumping height. This provides the construction site with tangible benefits, as even applications on stony ground are no problem thanks to the high break out force. The innovative hydraulic system “Load Sensing Flow Sharing” ensures precise control and high performance efficiency: the machine adjusts automatically to the load and the joystick movement remains constant for the operator at all times. This makes working with the excavator particularly comfortable.
Efficient and productive in narrow spaces
With the telehandler TH412 and the wheel loader WL28, Wacker Neuson presents two optimized all-rounders. The wheel loader WL28 is impressive as a flexibly deployable transport helper with a high tipping load and even more comfort and safety. The powerful hydraulic options provide sensitive control and allow the operation of a wide variety of attachments such as, for example, snow blowers, pallet forks or sweepers. The electronically regulated drive system with various drive modes makes working with both machines even more efficient and flexible. Auto-Mode for the usual 100 percent performance, as well as ECO mode, in which the engine rpm’s are reduced when reaching a travel speed set by the operator in advance, are standard. In addition, customers can optionally choose between two other modes: attachment mode, which keeps the hydraulic flow volume on the attachment always constant, and the M-Drive Mode, in which the engine rpm’s can be specified with the hand throttle and the travel speed regulated with the drive pedal. The reworked telehandler TH412, with 1.25 metric tons of payload and a stacking height of four meters, is the most compact model in the range. Like all telehandlers by Wacker Neuson, the TH412 is also equipped with the innovative Vertical Lift System driver assistance system: due to the partially automated telescopic movement and the nearly vertical lifting or lowering movement, the stability of the machine is improved.
Dumpers DW60 and DW90: more safety
If transporting materials on uneven terrain conditions is involved, dumpers are the helpers in demand on the construction site. The time-tested and proven wheel dumpers DW60 and DW90, with 6,000 and 9,000 kilograms of payload, are the largest wheel dumpers in the Wacker Neuson portfolio. They have been reworked and now come with a diesel engine of emission standard Stage V, which protects the environment without sacrificing productivity. The standard auto-stop function switches the machine off after a predefined time period without use. The large, multi-functional 7-inch color display ensures an ideal overview of all machine functions and displays the images of the front- and rear-view cameras as well as all important information for the operator. The optional cabin ensures increased safety due to the laminated safety glass installed all around, and the optional skip grating protects the operator when loading as well as when driving. The dumpers are equipped with the time-tested and proven, intuitive hydrostatic 4-wheel drive: the operator only engages the forward or reverse gear and the dumper accelerates variably with constant tractive force. Due to this, the operator can fully concentrate on his work. The automatic braking function additionally increases safety on the construction site. The optional orange safety belt, clearly visible from outside, and a green rotating beacon that displays when the safety belt has been fastened, as well as the entry in signal color, make working with the dumpers even safer.
Compaction expertise for 90 years
As the inventor of the vibratory rammer, Wacker Neuson has decades of experience in the area of compaction. The portfolio in the area of soil compaction includes the time-tested and proven trench roller RTx. The maintenance-free lower mass of the roller has been further optimized with several adaptations to the design. The new model generation of the walk-behind vibratory roller RD7, with a drum width of 650 millimeters, delivers optimum work results on asphalt as well as on soil surfaces. The end user benefits here from simple operation via a particularly ergonomic center pole as well as tool-free access to all service points. With its revised design and function, the center pole makes compacting very easy for the operator. All the operator’s control elements can be reached directly on the guide handle. Also, the roller RD7 exhibits, with less than 2.5 m/s², the lowest hand-arm vibration values on the market.
For reliable concrete consolidation, Wacker Neuson offers a battery-powered high frequency internal vibrator. The weight of the converter backpack (ACBe), in which the lithium ion rechargeable battery for the internal vibrator is stored, has now been significantly reduced. The backpack system, which was developed with a leading brand manufacturer, distributes the total weight of 13.5 kilograms – of which about nine kilograms is for the battery – ergonomically on several load points. This makes even more comfortable working possible, completely without cables or emissions. All zero emission compaction machines by Wacker Neuson, that is battery-powered rammers, battery-powered vibratory plates and internal vibrators, are operated with the same modular lithium ion battery. It can be removed for charging in no time, exchanged for a second battery, or swapped between machines – an additional plus in flexibility in everyday construction site work.
