Kubota’s latest eight-tonne mini-excavator, the KX085-5, has been introduced to the Scotland, complete with an award-winning Tefra quick hitch from Hill Engineering.
The mono-boom KX085-5 has been supplied to Jarvie Plant Hire, which has nine sites throughout Scotland and the north-west of England, by HRN Tractors who themselves have seven depots throughout Scotland. HRN showcased the KX085-5, in Jarvie’s livery, at the recent Black Isle Show.
Jarvie Plant Hire has been using Hill’s Tefra coupler since 2014, and HRN has fitted its own fleet of five and eight-tonne Kubota excavators with the quick hitch since January 2021, purchasing almost 200 of the attachments – or an average of nine per month – since then.
HRN key account manager Andy Wilson said: “We like Hill’s Tefra hitches for many reasons – there are only three moving parts so that immediately minimises the risk of something going wrong. There is a ball valve for safety, a spring back up for safety, and the hydraulic ram has a sheath for protection.”
He added: “They compare very well with other manufacturers.”
A family business with more than 40 years expertise, HRN has the largest selection of used agricultural machinery in Scotland, with Kubota being the newest addition to their franchise portfolio.
