Magnor Plant, the Warwickshire based in-house plant business of Morgan Sindall Infrastructure has bolstered its hire feet with the initial purchase of fifteen hybrid tower lights, supplied by the UK’s leading site lighting experts, Trime UK Limited.
The company already manages a fleet of traditional diesel and solar powered lighting towers, however they were drawn to the cost-saving and environmental qualities of the Trime X-ECO Lithium Hybrid LED units.
Lee Davidson, Magnor Plant’s Specialist Plant Manager explained, “We were introduced to the X-ECO Lithium Hybrid machines by Ray Caulfield (The Trime Group CEO) and we immediately arranged a trial of one of the units.”
“So successful was the trial that we decided to purchase a first batch of fifteen units with the intention of increasing our fleet in the coming months. The back-up and support we have had from Trime UK has been very impressive. Our team really appreciated their operator and telemetry training.” added Lee.
The Trime X-ECO Lithium Hybrid has a lighting coverage of 3000sqm and is powered by a combination of a 2-cylinder diesel engine and the latest lithium battery pack. The engine uses just 0.12 litres per hour which equates to a 92% reduction when compared to a conventional diesel-only lighting tower. Emissions are also drastically lowered to a mere 0.171kg per month, whereas a diesel equivalent produces an unhealthy 1.224kg each month. That’s an 86% reduction in airborne carbon emissions. The complete unit can be re-charged in less than three and a half hours and runs totally silently for 10.5 hours.
The Trime X-ECO Lithium Hybrid sets have been deployed on various Morgan Sindall Infrastructure sites throughout the country. The company delivers some of the UKs most complex and critical infrastructure across six core sectors of energy, water, nuclear, highways, rail and aviation for public and private customers. Working on projects and long-term frameworks, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure believes in connecting people, places and communities through innovative and responsible infrastructure.
