Selwood has further strengthened its plant hire fleet in the South East as part of on an ongoing programme of investment.
Plant specialists at Selwood’s Sittingbourne branch in Kent have added five new 14-tonne excavators and a range of new telehandlers to the fleet.
The investment, which has been spurred on by increasing demand in the area and a series of new client wins, has also seen Selwood further strengthen the transport capacity of the depot with the addition of a new Mercedes Benz Actros low loader.
Stephen Myers, one of Selwood’s plant specialists at the depot in Symmonds Drive, said: “We have seen a significant spike in demand for our plant hire equipment over the past year and are delighted to have strengthened the fleet further to be able to increase our offer to customers.
“The addition of the brand-new loader has been particularly beneficial as it means we can reduce the number of trips and the cost to the customer.
“We always prided ourselves on our fast reactive times, but this investment has increased our efficiency even further to be able to deliver multiple plant equipment. We have been really pleased with the positive feedback from clients, both existing and new.
“We are looking forward to expanding our offer and reach further in 2018.”
The Hyundai 14-tonne excavators feature a digging depth of 5.6m, a dumping height of 6.08m, and a forward reach of 8.34m. The range of new telehandlers vary from 6m to 14m.
