Hydroblast, based just outside Northallerton, have made a significant investment in state-of-the-art Swedish machinery, which is set to further improve their service to customers.
Hydroblast provide high pressure water jetting services, for tasks such as Hydrodemolition, Tank Cleaning, Tube Cleaning, Pipe Cleaning and Road Marking Removal.
The machine, a Powerpack 700, can provide water jetting power of up to 1040 bar, pumping up to 262 litres per minute. It was manufactured in Holsbybrunn in Sweden, and Hydroblast’s Ross McDonald visited to pre-inspect the machine and arrange delivery (pictured above).
The machine contains space for aqua cutter robots, unlike other competitors on the market, and is reliable, powerful and economic, driven by a Volvo engine.
Priced at £210,000, the machine represents a further notable investment for this family-run company, which has been in operation since 2002. Last year the company improved the levels of service by investment in three purpose-built trailers, and can now offer better service schedules, speed and flexibility. Hydroblast is believed to be the only company in the country to have two Powerpacks, and only one of this spec, allowing them to stand out from their competition with a safer and quicker reliable service.
“We are well known especially for our specialist and chemical tank cleaning, for example petro-chemical sites, but that comes with its obvious challenges”, says Ross. “The new machine is fitted with the best technology available – the spark arrestor prevents any flame/sparks coming out of the exhaust if detected, and the Chalywn valve shuts down the engine safely by stopping the air supply if it detects any gas or vapour being drawn into the engine, allowing us to remain safe at all times.”
