Integrated Hydraulic Solutions firm opens 18,000 sq ft factory in Sheffield

UK manufacturing firm Integrated Hydraulic Solutions (IHS UK Ltd), today announced the opening of a new 18,000 sq ft factory in Worksop, Sheffield. The company provides hydraulic solutions to UK and internationally-based clients across multiple industry sectors.

Initially set up in 2016 in a 6,000 sq ft factory with a 5yr business plan, IHS UK Ltd has taken the decision to expand operations ahead of schedule. The new premises is fitted with two 10ton overhead cranes for moving large machinery, as well as extensive outdoor and office space.

“We knew within six months of opening that the 6,000 sq ft factory we had taken was not going to be enough to meet the capacity we were immediately greeted with,” said Nick Doe, Managing Director for Integrated Hydraulic Solutions. “After many months of talking to commercial agents with regards to premises throughout the Worksop/Sheffield area we finally found the unit we now occupy, which is within just half a mile of our first premises. With the extra space we have also been able to set up an engineering machine shop allowing us to do bespoke in-house work ourselves, therefore saving time for the customer and speeding up any prototyping we do.”

The company has secured contracts across the construction, quarrying, marine, and aerospace industries, and has already started exporting machinery to international regions. With 12 staff members now in place, the increased factory space will allow the firm to take on even bigger on-going projects. Additionally, historically smaller project work such as the creation of automated hydraulic powerpacks has now become developed into fully-mobile processing plants for clients across multiple sectors.

One of IHS UK Ltd’s key USPs is that it is able to provide cutting edge design and build services alongside technical assistance and the manufacturing of bespoke products.

“What we have really seen in hydraulics over the past 10-20yrs is a customer move away from component players towards the need for a more comprehensive solution,” says Doe. “We set-up IHS to provide a single source company that designs, selects, and manufactures solutions for everyday companies. We now have become a one stop engineering shop, offering design all the way through to commissioning, taking in companies visions and making them reality.”
