Speedy Hire Plc, the UK’s leading tools and equipment hire company, has continued its long association with Isuzu Truck (UK) Ltd with the recent introduction of 39 new Isuzu 7.5 tonne rigids within its nationwide commercial vehicle fleet.

Speedy’s latest order for Isuzu trucks feature rigid models specified with either beavertail plant bodies or half box/half curtain bodies.  There are 22 new beavertail trucks and 17 new combination trucks, and these will be operating in various locations across the UK, having been acquired on a five-year deal through contract hire company Prohire.

Commenting on the latest fleet additions, Chris Dempsey, managing director – operational support, Speedy said, “We have been operating Isuzu trucks since 2013 and currently we have 45 in total within the fleet. Payload is critical to our operation and the Isuzus provide us with the perfect solution at this GVW, together with excellent back up support from our local dealer, Warrington Vehicle Centre.”

The new Isuzu N75.190 (E) rigids will be covering between 30,000 and 40,000 km per truck over their five-year service in the Speedy fleet, with the beavertail trucks moving plant and equipment and the half box/half curtain models transporting Speedy products between the company’s retail locations.

With over 200 locations nationwide, Speedy provides a full end-to-end service to customers ranging from the UK’s largest contractors, through to small traders and DIYers.

Jon Corcoran, senior fleet sales manager, Isuzu Truck (UK) Ltd said “Speedy has a long association with Isuzu Truck going back almost a decade and the addition of these latest 39 new 7.5 tonne trucks will take this relationship well into the next decade.
