  • Robert Brown – GROUP CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER / COINS
    Robert has played a major role in establishing the COINS Grand Challenge, supporting and developing the competition since its launch in 2015. He is a passionate advocate of technological innovation and the development of software solutions. 
  • Mark Beard – CHAIRMAN & CHIEF EXECUTIVE / E W BEARD (HOLDINGS) LTD
    Mark is President of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) and a judge for the 2021 COINS Grand Challenge. He is a Chartered Environmentalist and has been Chairman and Chief Executive of Beard since 1999.
  • Susan Jackson – JOINT MANAGING DIRECTOR / CAMPION HOMES LTD 
    Susan is Joint Managing Director of Scottish housebuilder, Campion Homes, where she is leading a change programme across the business. A judge for the 2021 COINS Grand Challenge she is also a board member of Homes for Scotland. 
  • Dr. Ali Khaloo –CEO & FOUNDER / AREN
    Ali won the COINS Grand Challenge Open Competition in 2020. His innovations include a B2B civil infrastructure management platform that uses computer vision, machine learning, and civil engineering to minimize the risk of infrastructure failure and optimise spending across the asset portfolio. 
  • Kaushal Shetty –Studied at INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, KHARAGPUR
    Kaushal was a COINS Grand Challenge 2019 Undergraduate Competition runner-up with ‘Nostos Homes’, a sustainable emergency shelter for people displaced due to natural disasters or violence.

This global competition is open to anyone whose idea could improve construction or the built environment – from increasing efficiency, better decision making through to improving sustainability and reducing risk. 

This is a global competition organised by Construction Industry Solutions Ltd (COINS) to inspire innovation within the construction industry.
